About Melissa Álvarez Mangual, Ed.D.

Melissa Álvarez Mangual is an accomplished executive known for her expertise in executive coaching, leadership and people development, and organizational growth. As the founder of Thriven Partners, LLC, Melissa has established herself as a trusted leader in guiding individuals and organizations towards transformative change. 

With a deep commitment to lifelong learning and continuous improvement, Melissa’s approach centers around activating emotionally intelligent, inclusive, and equitable leaders. As an executive coach, she provides the right balance of challenge and support to help her clients achieve their goals. Through her strategic guidance and thought-provoking insights, she helps executives shift their mindsets, adopt positive habits, and drive meaningful progress within their organizations.

She has successfully revitalized failing programs, elevated good programs to new levels of success, and launched innovative initiatives that have had a lasting impact. Outside of her client work, Melissa demonstrates her commitment to professional service by serving on the board of directors for the Executive Service Corps Chicago and actively participating in the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Her involvement with ICF includes being part of the Global DEI subcommittee on Policy & Governance as well as serving as an ICF Converge Reviewer and Global Coaching Impact Awards Evaluator – a testament to her dedication to advancing the coaching industry.

Melissa’s educational background further enhances her expertise. She holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership Studies from Northeastern University in Boston. Additionally, she earned a Master of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from DePaul University in Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs from Florida State University. Her continuous pursuit of knowledge includes completing specialized certificates such as the Intercultural Foundations Certificate from the Intercultural Communication Institute and Executive and Change Leadership certificates through Cornell University. Melissa also teaches for Fielding Graduate University’s Master of Arts in Organization Development and Leadership, with a focus on Leadership and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
